Hey everyone!  All I can think of saying is WOW for oh so many reasons!  The weather is finally cooling off and the riding season has taken off like a bullet.  It has been an extremely busy month for the Phoenix District.

We have been busy meeting every Thursday night at 6:00 getting all of the details into place for this year’s 11th Annual CAVE CREEK CRAWL on November 22!  It is going to be an awesome time with 7 stops, live music, t-shirts, run pins, food, raffles and door prizes, not to mention the camaraderie of our fellow brothers and sisters.  Beth has been doing an awesome job getting raffles this year and has gotten everything from bike tires to a two night stay at the Marriott.  She estimates the raffles this year is worth about $3,000.00!  If you get the chance, stop by on Thursday nights and see what we are up to or to just enjoy the fellowship that has been growing!

I would like to welcome our new/renewed members:  Nice Mason, Doug Mucklow, Mike Rickard, Geneva Webb, Bill Cox, Larry Herrera, Beth Johnston and business member Jimmy D’s!  We look forward to seeing you at the meetings.  The Phoenix District is also very fortunate to have three business members who have been our strong supports for 10 years or more.  They are the Steel Horse Saloon, 1800’s Saloon and Fabyaan’s Place.  We are proud to have all three businesses on the CAVE CREEK CRAWL this year!  While on the run (or anytime), please stop by and thank them for all they have done for the MMA.

Yukon Jack and I talked about all of the information we brought back from the BOD meeting.  Jack talked about the Lobby report and what is happening with the Emissions Testing bill and the HIPPA bill.  He also talked about the continued support MMA will be receiving from our AIM attorney, Richard Lester.  We both talked about motorcycle insurance coverage and knowing for sure if your passenger riding with you is covered or not an urged everyone to please contact their insurance company and find out exactly who is covered and who isn’t.  We also encouraged them to contact us to give us their results.

After all of the various reports were given, the floor was opened up for general discussion.  It was an amazing discussion where many issues, questions and when known, answers were shared.  Even though the numbers were relatively small, the knowledge and camaraderie we shared was huge.

As the meeting came to a close, we again urged everyone to attend the 11th Annual CAVE CREEK CRAWL on November 22 and Birds on Bike on November 23.  The membership drawing was held and TJ was the winner!  JC lead us in prayer and the meeting was adjourned.

Till our paths cross again,
Mary Hart – BOD member
and Co-DM
