Hello fellow riders and freedom fighters,
We’ve accomplished so much up along the rim. We’re giving ourselves the opportunity to talk to people about motorcycle awareness. The more the public hears from us the safer we are.
This past month we held our 2nd annual SCAVENGER HUNT. Our run started at SideWinders and ended at Punkin Center. Along the way the riders visited some of our business members and collected skeleton parts to complete the run. While at Punkin Center we had people looking for body parts hidden all over the place with clues leading the way. We also had a pumpkin decorating contest with sharpie markers. There was just one trick, you had to decorate the pumpkin blindfolded. We had a lot of fun and we missed you if you couldn’t make it. We’ll see you next year at this same event.
Our next big event will be our Birds on Bikes and with the help of Safeway we’ll deliver 20 Thanksgiving dinners to family’s who could use a little help. This event will be held in the Safeway parking lot on November 22nd starting at 9:00 am. While we are doing our good deeds for our community, we’ll be doing other good deeds by setting up a motorcycle safety and awareness booth. Hundreds of people will receive good quality information about motorcycle safety and awareness. Here in the Rim District, we also like to focus on children by giving them LOOK OUT FOR MOTORCYCLES free t- shirts and balloons.
This year our Christmas party will be held at Cactus Flats on December 6th beginning at 12:00 pm. Please bring a toy for a child and a unisex gift for our gift exchange amongst our members. The toys brought for the children of our community are the true focus of this event. All the toys that are donated go directly to the children of our community. With lots of games, food, 50/50, raffles, and lots of prizes, we’re looking forward to collecting a lot of toys for the kids.
On a troubling issue, I’m saddened that Ray Houston has resigned as our lobbyist. I feel this is a great loss to us in the M.M.A. Don’t count Ray out of the fight. I believe he has a lot more to say. Mick Degn will take over Ray’s position as our lobbyist and continue the fight. Rim Country District looks forward to working with Mick on issues that are present before our legislators. Let’s get them Mick and good luck.
